How FreedomHub Began
Founded by Jen Salandanan and Elaine Aguilar, FreedomHub was built from our own journey as virtual professionals. Before helping businesses hire exceptional talent, we spent years working remotely with clients around the world, experiencing firsthand the challenges, opportunities, and life-changing impact of the Virtual Assistant industry.
Over the years, we've worn many hats. We've worked as Executive Assistants, Bookkeepers, Project Managers, Operations Managers, Social Media Managers, Recruiters, Customer Support Specialists, and AI advocates, helping businesses streamline operations, improve productivity, implement systems, and scale with confidence. These experiences gave us a deep understanding of what businesses need—and what it takes for a virtual professional to become an invaluable member of any team.
At the same time, we've built extensive experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, human resources, and remote workforce management. We've interviewed, hired, trained, onboarded, and managed remote teams across different industries, giving us a unique perspective from both sides of the hiring journey. An Accountant by profession with 8+ years of experience, Jen began her career as an Executive Assistant and Bookkeeper before growing into Project Management, Operations Management, and Online Business Management. Having worked directly with businesses of all sizes, she understands what it takes to build efficient operations from the ground up.
Today, she specializes in designing scalable business systems, implementing AI-powered workflows, and creating processes that help teams stay organized, productive, and ready for growth. Her philosophy is simple: build systems that work for people—not just processes that look good on paper.
With 14 years of experience in Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Recruitment, and Remote Workforce Management, Elaine is passionate about connecting the right people with the right opportunities. She believes successful businesses are built by strong teams, and strong teams begin with hiring the right people.
She leads FreedomHub's talent development, ensuring every Virtual Assistant is equipped with the skills, professionalism, confidence, and mindset needed to become a trusted long-term partner—not just another freelancer.
